What We Do!

How We

See It

God promised to give us life in abundance (John 10:10); however, life is about choices. And our collective decisions have caused a separation between us and our Creator. The ongoing consequences for that separation is equivalent to 450 September 11ths every single year!

Every year noncommunicable diseases—which are linked to lifestyle choices—kill approximately 1,349,760 people in the United States. In addition, approximately 940,000 marriages end in divorce, 32.9 million people continue living in poverty, and 35.2 million Americans—under 24 years of age—do not complete their high school education. All of these killers are linked to lifestyle choices.

Lifestyle choices are associated with our level of knowledge. God told the Israelites that His people are destroyed from a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Statistically, education is reciprocally related to income and health. Adults that attain higher levels of education usually have a higher annual income. They are healthier, and they live longer.

Education

So, as stated in Hosea 4:6, our lack of knowledge is directly linked to our survival. That is a huge reason why the education of strength coaches and personal trainers is the focal point to what we do. Many athletes receive instruction from inadequately educated coaches and/or trainers, resulting in poorly designed programs that lead to injuries, athlete burnout, and long-term health issues. Coaches and trainers with a high understanding of the sports science will undoubtedly have the knowledge to design movement programs for any level of athlete.

Adequate, affordable and convenient continuing education.

We solve the problem of inadequately trained coaches and trainers by being perpetual learners that focus on long-term athletic development. In turn, we provide professional development to coaches and trainers while considering every aspect of the athlete, including character development, health, and athletic performance.

I aspire to become a physician executive to encourage you—my brothers and sisters around the world—to also chase the eternal crown.

Thanks for stopping by to find out more about me. I’m Ryan “Doc” Desmond, a 15-year veteran of the US Army who served as a medic with HHB 5/52nd ADA and the 31st CSH. I deployed to Iraq with both units. My first deployment was in support of OIF I, and my second supported OIF IV. I’m also the God-fearing, sports science-loving, knowledge-seeking, fitness enthusiast, husband, father, son, future doctor and writer who founded this Christian-focused health & fitness blog. It’s my goal to improve my knowledge and use my gifts and talents to develop a health care system that challenges the status quo, illustrates an active/athletic lifestyle, and reconciles the Body of Christ.

Using my gifts and talents to…reconcile the Body of Christ.
Doc Desmond

Prior to starting a business and launching this website, I had been separated from the military for about two years. I was your average adult learner, living a FULL life in the Atlanta, GA area – complete with a full-time job, family responsibilities, school due dates and all of the work/life balance struggles that accompany that stage of life. I was enjoying the learning process. I wanted more family time, but I needed more from my professional life.

It was clear…I had to make better choices!

Chase the Crown.

Chasing the Crown is inspired by 1 Timothy 4:8 and is a commitment to long-term athletic development that overcomes barriers to eternal life and athletic performance. It acknowledges the need for humans to be reconciled to God in all aspects of our lives because of the sin that defiled human creation. Furthermore, it accepts the ministry of reconciliation that was left to us by Jesus Christ.
